Tampa Bay Fishing Guide

When anyone talks about fishing Tampa Bay, they discuss one species: Tarpon. Tampa Bay is synonymous with the “Silver King” and for good reason. Tampa Bay is home to some of the best Tarpon fishing in the world and anglers travel from all points on the compass to experience this amazing fishery.

Tampa Bay’s estuaries, tidal flows and location make it the epicenter of the state’s largest Tarpon migration during the Spring and Summer. Countless Tarpon make their way north to Tampa Bay as part of their annual trek and can add to your angling bucket list.

These transient Tarpon range in size from 50 pounds all the way up to 200 pounds! Tarpon combine the traits of many elite gamefish into one bruising yet acrobatic package: the speed of a bonefish; the aerobatics of a sailfish; the grueling runs of a marlin and the ferocious bites of a tuna. Nothing makes you as “weak in the knees” quite like witnessing a triple-digit Tarpon inhaling your bait a few feet from the boat to be followed by breathtaking jumps and bicep-testing runs. What’s more is that Tarpon have no table value, which means that the Tarpon fishery is strictly Catch and Release.

Captain Ben has grown up in the Tampa Bay area and specializes in the pursuit of Tarpon all year long. His unbridled passion for Tarpon fishing has led Captain Ben to meticulously tracking their behaviors and eating habits to ensure his clients have the best chance at hooking a trophy fish. Captain Ben has been named the Top Tarpon Fishing Guide by ReelReports.com for eight consecutive years for the Tampa and Clearwater region. Captain Kyle will give YOU the experience you want.. for the first timers he will bait and cast for you and all you have to do is reel those babies in to the boat and smile with them squiggling in front of you… to the pros who are looking for some sport/trophy photos… this is the charter captain for you! His equipment & boat are top notch.. really comfortable and zippy. Snook, red fish.. and even a 60 pound ray … In fact my husband had to go out and buy the rig that he supplied to us on the boat we liked it so much. The captain has lived his life on the bays and coves of St. Pete.. he will sniff the fish out for you. It’s always an exciting day on the water with Kyle. Two years in a row we have booked with him and we can’t wait to do it again… Hey tell him Mo says Hi… maybe he’ll give us a deal next year;)”
